Ooh-da-lolly!

Golly what a day! I had a very exciting thing happen to me on Saturday...as you read on please keep in mind that I spend my days entertaining four young children with craft projects, book, and occasionally (don't judge me) the television. However, saturday I had a terrific moment that was different from my usual routine! I went shopping!! Don't laugh, it doesn't happen very often. However, this was no ordinary shopping trip. I have been planning and looking forward to the 50% off sale at Goodwill for a few weeks now and even wrote it on my calendar. (again, don't judge what you haven't tried). If there is one thing that I love it is a good bargain! That is my drug of choice because it makes me happy to not spend money. I went with my mom and we split up and each grabbed whatever looked cute and in good condition. Shopping for four growing kids can be very confusing, overwhelming, not to mention expensive. I usually do garage sales and stuff like that but I don't really have that many opportunities to go anymore so this was a nice way to get it all done in one trip. We were there for over two hours going through every section for each of the kids. At the end I was sure I had gone over budget and was nervous to checkout...then came the exciting part...one heaping cart full of goodies...$125.00!! Yeah I am not kidding. That night I came home relishing in my "high"and tallied up what I would have spent...I got over $1300.00 worth of clothes for my kids for $125.00. It was just what I needed to ease my growing stress about money since everything (except salaries) has doubled in the last few months, and make it through the next few weeks doing craft projects, reading children's stories and watching kids movies. I am a total geek and I took pictures of my favorite stuff to share with the "non-beleivers"!

I mostly needed stuff for Collin since the younger ones have the older ones hand me downs and Macy wears uniforms but I was able to get each of them what they needed, and I even got myself some much needed jeans!! So I congratulate myself on my superb bargain shopping abilites and I continue to feed my growing addiction. Thank you for humoring me, have a nice day!

That is AWESOME! but only out of Utah! I Love "Once upon a child" in Austin and everywhere else besides Utah. The clothes just don't go through 6 kids before they are retired so (as you did) you are sure to find great bargains! Way to go Bethany!

Good for you! That is awesome!! I try to hit the 50% off sales at Value Village and Goodwill too, but I am not as die hard as you, I guess. I've never found so much good stuff that has made me a believer yet. But, I also don't have 4 kids either. I love Target Clearance. Yes yes yes, come out to visit Seattle!!

I love to bargain shop too. 98.9% of my kid's clothes come from Goodwill & yard sales. I love cute clothes but I really love cheap clothes. I love how you put the outfits together. So cute.
