At some point over the last few months we have had some very strange occurences. My children have been young and I have always thought of them as little and young and cute. They have changed slightly. I have been noticing that they are needing new clothes and that they don't all have that baby face look anymore.
Reasons why I know my kids are growing...
I am mourning the growth of my children and I wish so badly that I could bottle up those precious moments of peace that we have so that someday when our house is quiet, and I am applying made for gray hair dye in a box and trimming Tait's ear hairs, I could sit down on the chair that I used to rock my babies and enjoy a brief moment of what it felt like to have them snuggling with me and giving me one last kiss as an excuse to get out of bed. If I could ask for one wish to be granted it would be that I would appreciate everyday with them at these ages. I wish it were easier to have perspective at those moments when you need it the most! I pray for it and I challenge myself to enjoy the journey of raising my little family!

What a great post about your kids. However, I was waiting for comments on how Tait's growing up so fast:-) So, about the trashy 6 year old clothes. I read a funny book called, "Stop dressing your 6-year old like a skank" very funny book about some authors different issues with our society but she presents it in a very humorous way.
I'll have to read that one! By the way I am still waiting for signs that Tait is growing up...I have a feeling the first sign will be his ear hairs :)!

this was such a sweet post...and i am getting to read it at a time when i'm just proud of myself for keeping my now-quota-of-three children alive until bed time. just a reminder that i need to do some appreciating of my own!
I always knew that you would be such a great mom, and this post goes to show just how great. Thank you for the reminder to appreciate every moment. I also have a hard time when Rohne is peeing on the carpet, or poking his sister with a screw driver. I must say, that I think you are growing up beautifully. And, those gray hairs? Phooey! I have 'em too. I just try to forget.
Just for the record...and Tait's embarrassment, the hair dye and ear hairs are supposed to be referring to the future. No need for those things yet! Just to clarify!

Bethany, how sweet is that! It's so fun to look at our kids and remember what it is about them that makes each one special and unique. BTW, if you are experiencing the symptoms of PMS at 6, good luck when she's 9. (wanna borrow Annie for a while?)
I loved it too! To add to Tamara's comment, I agree wait until she's nine! You have such an awesome outlook on this stage in life, thanks for sharing!
I am so excited to see your family. Tait has grown up some. I have not seen him going around with a shovel pretending he is going to chop off your kids feet and accidentally get a toe. I still have the scar.
Hey Bethany - Wendy told me about your blog so I added a link on mine - hope that's alright. I love having all my links there so I can just go down my list seeing what everyone is up to. You are more than welcome to blog stalk me as well (although we're pretty boring so you may be getting the short end of the stick).
I'm setting my blog to private so email me with your address so I can send you an invite.

I love the Rudds! And, I love you, big sister. You are such a great example to me--I hope you know that. I wanna be just like you someday!
Hi Tait and Bethany!! Great to see you guys... super cute family!!
sooo true!! (the wierd looks) but not only that... I love the next part... Are you gonna have any more? Ha ha. Always sure to follow right!?! It's great to see your cute family! Your Macy sounds too much like my oldest (6 going on 13) Brynkli. I am sure they'd be best of friends!! :)
I agree! I totally wish we could just bottle up some of the snuggles, story times, and cute giggly moments. I am going to miss them when my kids get to the age when they don't want to acknowledge me at all! And for the ages beyond when our house is too quiet. It is also too bad we can't trade in for our future moments of quiet now!
